After suffering from various manifestations of anxiety, I recovered using a psychoeducational process which I now teach to others.
As an NCFE level four qualified coach, I have coached over 300 individuals since 2018 to learn the science of anxiety and the recovery process.
I offer one-to-one, local community and corporate group coaching, and also work at the University of Oxford as a Project Manager and Wellbeing Champion.
On World Mental Health Day 2025, I was interviewed with Olympic Champion Rory Gibbs about my coaching by BBC Radio Oxford.
The coaching methodology I use has been subjected to a number of National Health Service (NHS) tests.
The most recent study found that in 61 participants, the average score on the GAD-7 scale (used to measure anxiety) went from 18.3 (severe anxiety) to 2.8 (minimal anxiety).
The test found anxiety levels reduced from severe to mild or minimal in 90% of sufferers in under three weeks.

An anxiety disorder occurs when the sensation of fear is activated and not 'reset'.
This can be caused by a life event, a period of stress, or can even stretch bac into childhood, when fear can be more easily activated.
Fear causes the mind to rapidly 'risk assess' and the body prepare to 'fight or flight', and anxiety is when this is happening without a threat.
As the mind and body respond to the fear sensation, 'worst-case scenario' thoughts and physical symptoms can seem like debilitating threats in themselves.
This can lead to avoidant or reassurance seeking behaviour, and the anxiety cycle continues.
Recovery from anxiety occurs when the subconscious receives enough 'data' that the sufferer is safe, and stops generating the sensation of fear.
This is achieved through consciously understanding and overriding the fear sensation through non-anxious responses and behaviour.
I offer a one-to-one, community and corporate coaching on the recovery process, to educate on the science of anxiety, the steps to alleviate it and how to recover completely.
Anxiety can lead to intrusive thoughts about health, as the mind looks for risk in the everyday that could lead to illness or disease. In the absence of a threat, the mind imagines 'worst-case' scenarios, leading sufferers to seek out reassurance, which can exacerbate the anxiety.
With OCD, anxiety leads to risk assessing the everyday environment, leading sufferers to seek extra control and safety in response. The mind then processes that they survived doing so, which leads to more of the fear sensation that lead to the behaviour, and the cycle continues.
In the absence of an actual threat, the sensation of fear can lead to over-protective steps or avoidance of the outside world completely. As the mind gets used to feeling safe without going outside, it becomes convinced that the fear sensation is somehow protecting the sufferer, and the cycle continues.
The fear generated during a real-life event can continue long afterwards, as the mind keeps looking to protect by risk assessing, leading to 'flashbacks' in the absence of the threat itself.
Pure O is a form of OCD in which intrusive anxious thoughts lead to mental compulsions to feel safe, such as counting, repeating phrases or other forms of mental reassurance.
The safety felt as a result perpetuates the fear sensation, as the mind seeks to 'keep' us safe.
While anxiety can present obsessive thoughts about one particular theme (Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Relationship Anxiety), it can also be about 'anything and everything' as the mind does not find one over-arching are of importance to protect the sufferer from.
